Curtisteen "Curt" Thurman

Curtisteen Curt Thurman LUBBOCK-Curtisteen Thurman of Lubbock passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at the age of 82. She was born April 28, 1933, in Knott, Texas, to the late Curtis and Cathie (Hamby) McCauley. Curt graduated from Big Spring High School in 1951 and married Samuel Thurman, Jr. on Sept. 1, 1951, in Big Spring. Sam worked for Fina and was transferred to Lubbock, Denver, Dallas, and then back to Lubbock during his employment. He retired from Fina in 1982 and together the co-owned Thurman Oil Company in Big Spring. After retiring a second time, the couple moved to Ruidoso. Curt was a devoted mother who loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She was an avid golfer and member of the Gardeners Club. She always took pride in caring and helping others and was a joy to be around. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Curtis P. Thurman and wife, Jennifer of Woodsboro, Texas, and Cathy B. Thurman of Ruidoso, NM; grandchildren, Stephanie Rogers and husband, Trey, Dylan Thurman and Sterlyng Thurman; and two great-grandchildren, Gunner Thurman and Siler Rogers.
