Danny Chronister

Danny Ray Chronister Danny Ray Chronister, 57, of Littlefield went to be with his Lord on July 31, 2011 in Littlefield. He was born April 22, 1954 in Littlefield to Jack and Mary Chronister. Danny was a lifelong resident of Littlefield. He attended Littlefield School and graduated with the Class of 1972. He married Charla Hisaw on March 17, 1973 in Littlefield. Danny owned a ceramic shop with his wife for 20 years. He was a very creative man, and loved to paint oil pictures for people and himself. He collected numerous things that he found of value. Danny was generous and loved helping others. He loved to write about his life and the things that he thought people should know. His family was everything to him and he loved every one of them. He was a compassionate man that could make you smile in the worst of times. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Littlefield where he and his wife were very active, and he also taught Children's Church at Praise Temple. Danny is survived by his wife of 38 years, Charla Chronister of Littlefield; a son, Jamie Chronister and wife Kelly of Sachse, Texas; a daughter, Jill Misner and husband Michael of Elk City, Okla.; three granddaughters, Lynnsey and Kayla Stanley of Elk City, Okla. and Margot Chronister of Sachse; two grandsons, Jamison and Cullen Chronister of Sachse, Texas; his mother, Mary Chronister of Littlefield; a brother, David Chronister of Tucemsah, Okla.; mother-in-law, Esta Mae Rooze and husband Gene Rooze of Levelland; sister-in-law Cheri Hisaw of San Marcos; uncle and aunt Galen and Karen Cary of Amherst; and many friends and church family members. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday August 3, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Littlefield with Rev. Gary Boles and Lyndall Favor officiating. Interment will follow in Littlefield Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 2, 2011 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Life Challenge of Amarillo Inc., PO Box 508 Amarillo, TX 79105. Arrangements are under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield.
