Friend and colleague. David grew up in El Paso and first played in a band called Highway (originally Peppermint Highway) there from the late 1960s through much of the 1970s. I got to know him at Irvin High School (we graduated together) and was honored to play with Highway for the last 2 years the band was together. The picture is of David with Highway opening for Jefferson Airplane at the El Paso County Coliseum around 1970. He´d been gone for a while but far from forgotten.

My deepest condolences to the Trout family. Although I never knew David personally, I enjoyed seeing David and his brother performing in bands while they lived in El Paso. He was a gifted musician, singer and comedian. May the Lord give you comfort during this difficult time, and may David continue to entertain in heaven.
