Glen Hartley Obituary

Glen Lee Hartley SLATON-Glen L. Hartley, 87, of Slaton, passed away on June 14, 2016. Graveside Services will be in Englewood Cemetery on Friday, June 17, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., with Steve Campbell officiating. Under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. The family will have a visitation Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Englunds from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Glen was born July 16, 1928, to Leo and Grace (White) Hartley on the family farm near Rogersville, Mo. He moved to Slaton in 1949. Glen went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad for two years before going into the US Army in 1951. He served in Germany. Upon military separation, in December of 1952 he returned to Slaton, and work, as a Conductor on the Santa Fe retiring in 1988. He married Annie Jo Wood on April 2, 1955, in Lubbock. Glen was preceded in death by a son, David, on July 11, 1998. His memory will be cherished by his wife Annie Jo of the home; two sons, Joe of Friendswood, Texas, and Tim of Cypress Texas; and a sister, Helen Dunn of Dallas, Texas.
