John Marcy Obituary

Collegeville, PA- John (Jack) Bethune Marcy Sr. of Collegeville, PA passed away on, Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the age of 75 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Jane (Cannon) formerly of Lubbock, Texas; his son John (Lisa) B. Marcy, Jr. and grandchildren (Kiersten, Gwenyth, Gabrielle, Jared, Danielle); his daughter Karyn (Tim) Landmesser and grandchildren (Jake, Juleana, Lyndsea, Zackery); brothers Ron(Barbara), Bill(Barbara) and Gary(Nanette); sister-in-law June McDevitt and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents, Charles and Grace Marcy; his brother-in-law Richard McDevitt; and his sister-in-law Nanette Marcy precede Jack in death. Jack was the son of Charles and Grace Bethune Marcy of Germantown PA. He served in the US Air Force in Texas, Okinawa and Vietnam. He began his post-military career at Bell of PA as a splicer and retired from Verizon Communications as a Sr. Service Manager after 30 years of service. He was an active member of the Audubon JCs and served as its President. He was a member of the Thompson Masonic Lodge #340 since 1984. Jack enjoyed his dogs, deer hunting and fishing. Most of all, he loved God, his family and his friends. A celebration of Jack's life will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Kirk and Nice funeral home within the George Washington Memorial Park - 80 Stenton Avenue, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462. Burial will be immediately following the service, and a luncheon will follow thereafter. His family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory be made to Coatesville VA Medical Center, Voluntary Services, 1400 Black Horse Hill Road, Coatesville, PA 19320.
