Julia Luna Obituary

Julia Botello Luna LUBBOCK - Julia Botello Luna of Lubbock departed this life on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the age of 69. She was born April 6, 1942 in Poth, Texas to Ignacio and Petra (Cornado) Botello. She worked in the housekeeping department at Methodist Hospital for 18 years before retiring in 1992. Julia married Jesus Y. Red Luna on August 26, 1958 in Lubbock. She was a member of Emmanuel Worship Center in Lubbock. Those left to cherish her memory are six sons, Jesse (Sandra) Luna, Jr., Daniel Luna, Jimmy (Rosa) Luna, Shaun (Bridget) Luna, and Eric Luna, all of Lubbock, and Rudy (Mandy) Luna of Cleburne; four daughters, Norma (Jose) Servin, Brenda (Ronald) Quintana, Ruth Luna, and Margaret (Arthur) Narvias, all of Lubbock; brother, Adolfo Botello of Washington; two sisters, Margarita Sanchez and Andrellita Arias, both of Lubbock; 25 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren. Julia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Red on January 5, 2004; two brothers; and one daughter, Nora Luna in 1962. Visitation will begin at noon on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel. Beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2012, Mrs. Luna will lie in state at Emmanuel Worship Center, 1102 70th Street with a prayer service to begin at 7 p.m. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Emmanuel Worship Center with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens.
