Katherine Line Obituary

O'Donnell- Katherine (Cobb) Line of O'Donnell joined her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at the age of 94 years. She was born on August 30, 1923, in Bearden, Arkansas to the late George V. and Florence (Wages) Cobb. She, along with her parents and seven siblings came to Lynn County in 1923 by way of train to Post and settled in the Tahoka area. Katherine married the late Roy Kenneth Line on August 25, 1945, in Tahoka and together they began their family. Katherine was a farmer's wife, always working alongside her husband. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. Her family will remember her best for her wonderful cooking, especially for her famous homemade donuts and candy. She loved hard work and she also had a passion for scratch-offs, she would win some, and lose some, no matter what she had fun. Katherine lived in and around O'Donnell until 2014 when she moved to Lynnwood Assisted Living Center in Tahoka. She is survived by her two daughters, Gwen Bessire and husband, Bubby of O'Donnell, and Gloria Williams of Tahoka, sister-in-law; Gwyneth Line of O'Donnell, three grandchildren; Kathy Barton and husband Wayne, Stacy Bessire and Dennis Williams, two great-grandchildren; Alyssa Barton and Landry Barton and wife Bailey, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members, and a host of friends. Katherine is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and four sisters. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Combest Family Funeral Home, O'Donnell. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018, at First United Methodist Church O'Donnell with burial to follow in the O'Donnell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to be made the First United Methodist Church or the O'Donnell Cemetery Association.

Gloria, Gwen and Weldon, and the remainder of Katherine Line's family....please accept my deepest condolences in the loss of your loved one. She always had a few nice words to share with me, had a great laugh, and even considered driving my bus route for me when I wanted to get a early start on a visit to my parents home. She was a remarkable lady and is a part of the fond memories I have of my first teaching job in O'Donnell. Gloria, Gwen, Weldon and family members, may you find comfort and peace from God as you remember your loved one and the wonderful legacy she has left you.

May the Lord Bless and keep each one of you at this sad time in your lives. Katherine was a sweet and kind lady with whom I had the pleasure of knowing. She is with our Lord in Heaven. May she rest in peace.
