Lubbock- Katrina Cyan Castillo of Lubbock passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018 at the age of 20. She was born December 5, 1997 in Lubbock to Rudolfo, Jr. and Christina (Campos) Castillo, Jr. Katrina graduated from Spring Academy and was a student at Vogue Academy. She was vibrant, full of life, and thrived at serving others. She loved fashion and had a true talent at cosmetology.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Christina and stepdad Chris Guajardo, and siblings that she adored, Luciano Anthony Castillo, Christian Jordan Guajardo, and Priscilla Guajardo; grandparents, Marina Gonzales, Joe Adam Campos, Emelia and Jesus Lazono, Rudolfo Sr. and Virginia Castillo; as well as many extended family and friends.

Katrina was preceded in death by her father Rudolfo Jr.

A candle light vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 9, 2018 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m., Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway. Rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2018 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2018 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

I didn’t know her, but I saw her grave while visiting someone I knew, it broke my heart seeing what happened . I came back the day after and left her some flowers for her and the family. I’m so sorry for the loss of this beautiful girl. May she rest.

She was one of the sweetest, most tender hearted, and caring girls that I have ever had the privledge to teach! Hi Katrina, i know that we didnt actually get to know each other, but I remember you from school, and from being Kiambrees friend. All I can say, is when I saw the news, I got tears in my eyes. Anybody that I knew in my life, I care about. And id have to say the few times I was around you, you were so bubbly, and happy, friendly, uplifting.. Theres not many souls out here like you anymore. And Im so sorry for what happened to you, I know you didnt deserve that. I remember when I was at kiambrees house, you came by and you were so sassy and filled with laughter updating Kiambree about the new news in your life. Its so crazy, that I once saw you in front of me, and now.. youre gone. But we all know that youre in a much better place now. Thank you for leaving your mark here with us. You thought us how to bring women up, and be nice to everyone.. R.I.P Queen.... I wish I got to know more of you. My life would probably have more light in it, by being your friend.

To my beautiful Queen. Words can't explain how heart broken I am over your lost. Your sweet smile, warm hugs, little giggles and crazy self will never fade and will remain in my heart forever. I will always remember that precious smile! Cyan filled our classroom with love every single day! She always invited the kids that were alone to be in the group! She continued to do that in adulthood by making people beautiful! She always brought out the best in people; such an amazing task! She was an angel here on Earth! I am so privileged to have had her in my life! You loved your mom so much; she was an amazing parent! Your dad will be there for you now! God bless Cyan and her precious family!
