Larry is survived by his wife, Barbara of Arbela, N.M.; his son, William Bradley Rudd of Albuquerque, N.M.; and his sister, Ann Harrell of Dallas, Texas. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Lauren Rudd. Larry was born on Sept. 17, 1937, in Ft. Worth, Texas, to parents Mary Ruth Rudd and Laurence H. Larry and Barbara moved to Lubbock in 1966 where he practiced dentistry for 44 years and where he attended many continuing education classes. Larry became a fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1981 and a fellow of the International Academy of General Dentistry in 1988. Retirement began in 2010 in a new home on the east face of the Captain Mountains where the family had owned a vacation home for many years. Larry's family and friends will always remember him for his welcoming smile and wide open door. A memorial is planned in the spring when close friends and family will scatter ashes near his mountain.

I am saddened to read of Dr. Rudd's death. He was a wonderful dentist and a good man. Always he spoke with such pride of Barbara and his family. He loved you all very much. I am thankful to have had such a wonderful dentist most of my life.

Oh, Barbara..Judy and i are so sorry to hear of Larry's passing. I have thought of you guys often after retiring and moving out here. You and Larry were so welcoming to us in the dental community and Larry was not only a nice guy but a really fine practitioner. I admired him a bunch. I am sad.
