Louis Botkin

Louis Botkin LUBBOCK-Louis A. Botkin of Lubbock passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at the age of 87. He was born Jan. 11, 1928, in Coryell County, Texas to Vestor Lee and Ollie Myrtle (Turner) Botkin. He married Geneva Marlin on June 1, 1950. Louis was a businessman in the grocery and food industry in the Lubbock area for many years. His greatest achievement, as he would say, was his family. He dearly loved us all and we loved him in return. Louis was a true patriarch of his family. Louis loved to share his wonderful knowledge of gardening and cooking. He was also an accomplished pianist. He will be greatly missed. Louis was a member of Sunset Church of Christ. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Geneva; four sons, Monty Botkin and wife Ayami, Gary Botkin and wife Janie, Tim Botkin and wife Susan and David Botkin and wife Gwendolyn; six grandchildren, Chase Botkin and wife Dara, Josh Botkin and wife Sarah, Nik, Dustin, Barrett and Alexandra Botkin; three great-grandchildren, Lacey, Baron and Harper Botkin; sister-in-laws, Wanda Houk and Martha Botkin; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family member and friends. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Vestor and Ollie; and brothers, Roy and Finis Botkin. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2015, with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway, in Lubbock.
