Ludwig Teinert Obituary

Ludwig Ludy Teinert LUBBBOCK-Ludwig Ludy Teinert passed from this life on Friday, Aug. 10, 2012. Family and friends will gather for fellowship today, Aug. 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A service to celebrate his life of 87 years will take place on Monday, Aug. 13, at 10 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2221 Avenue W, Lubbock, www.memorialdesigners.net. Ludwig was born on Nov. 20, 1924, in Warda, Texas, to Alvin Carl and Matilda Augusta Teinert. Mr. Teinert served his country with valor during World War II as a soldier in the United States Army. He participated in the allied landing on the beaches of France and fought his way across northern Europe to Berlin, Germany. Ludy married Lennie Gene Cotham on Nov. 8, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Amarillo, Texas. She preceded him in death on Nov. 10, 1990. He owned Teinert Construction from 1960 through 1984. He married Oneta Dahl on Jan. 1, 1994, in Las Vegas, Nev. Survivors include his wife, Oneta; his son, Allen Teinert and his wife, Melissa; daughter, Susan Horn and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Karly Morava and husband, Greg, and Jason, Sean, and Brittany Horn; great-grandchildren, Ty and Lexy Brown, and Anthony and Jayden Horn; brothers, Martin Teinert and wife, Juanita, Herman Teinert and wife, Joy, and Billy Roy Teinert and wife, Sandy; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sister, Evelyn Lorenz, who died in 2012, and a brother, Alvin Teinert Jr., who died in 1992. In lieu of flowers, the Teinert family welcomes memorial contributions to Redeemer Lutheran Church and suggests the Building Fund in Ludy's honor.

Ludy was one of my favorite general contractors. He was a hard working and honest man. He was clever and had an infectious laugh. He will be missed. I believe he got his "wings" and is in heaven.
