Manuel J. Brito

Manuel J. Brito LUBBOCK-Manuel J. Brito was called home on Jan. 15, 2017. He was born on Aug. 31, 1941, in Lubbock to his parents, Margarita and Philip Brito, and raised by his grandparents, Eusebio and Josephina Rodriguez. Manuel married the love of his life, Noemi Gonzales on Jan. 5, 1964, recently celebrating 54 years of marriage. To this union were born three children, Priscilla, Phillip and Samuel Brito. Mr. Brito served the Lord for over 50 years as a Baptist Pastor. Mr. Brito is survived by his wife, Noemi; his son, Samuel and daughter-in-law, Melissa of Lubbock; four grandchildren: Christopher (Andrea) Brito, Alyssa Brito of Amarillo, Kristen Brito and Autumn Brito, both of Lubbock; two great-grandchildren, Christian Rodriguez and Christopher Brito, Jr. He also leaves behind a brother, Martin Salazar and a sister, Rosa Trevi o of Lubbock, Phillip Brito of South Carolina, Justin Brito of El Paso, Carlos Brito and Frank Brito of California; along with several brothers and sisters of California; and numerous nieces and nephews. Manuel is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and two children: Priscilla and Phillip. The family will receive friends and family at 6 p.m. with an evening prayer service to begin at 7 p.m., today, Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at Primera Iglesia Bautista, 301 N Sherman Ave, Lubbock, with Pastor Chris Downer officiating. Interment will be held in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Woodrow.
