Dr. Kerri Shomette (Keeling)
December 30, 2020
My first job growing up in Lubbock was at the age of 14. It was at the tennis center. Mel was my boss, my tennis coach and little did I know that he was also a spiritual mentor. It was not until I became a Christian at 18 that I realized the spiritual mentor he was to me and every student he encountered. As a tennis team, we had the privilege of attending his and Donna's wedding. What a precious memory that remains for me to this day. Once we met Donna, we all knew why she was the love of his life. She was perfect for him.
He will be missed, but I am blessed to have the memories of how he made a difference in my life as a young teenage girl.
My condolences to the family for their loss. You are in my prayers.
