Nancy Stoll Obituary

Lubbock- On Saturday, December 19, 2020, Nancy Jean Stoll of Lubbock, passed away at the age of 73. She was born on May 25, 1947, in Bethany, Oklahoma, to Chester Roscoe Young and Claudene Delores Nailon Young. Raised in Dallas, she graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1965. On April 28, 1966, she married Robert Alan Stoll, Jr. in Dallas. Thereafter, they lived in Vicenza, Italy, and Tacoma, Washington, during Bob's service in the United States Army. Since then, they lived in Lubbock and Abilene, Texas. While living in Abilene, they were members at Elmwood West United Methodist Church where Nancy was very involved in the Methodist Women's Organization and social groups at the church. They moved back to Lubbock in 1990, where they had attended Aldersgate United Methodist Church. During her time in Lubbock and Abilene, she worked many years as an insurance claims adjuster for Gulf Insurance Company and Hammerman & Gainer Insurance Company. Nancy enjoyed gardening and scrapbooking and was a devoted member of the "Scrappin' Sisters" and "The Scrappy Friends" often helping organize scrapbooking retreats. She also loved to make cards for friends and family that had her special touch. Bob and Nancy enjoyed traveling and camping in the mountains of Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming. Nancy's other cherished role was "Grammy" to her six grandchildren, and she enjoyed attending their various activities including sporting events and dance recitals. She was straightforward, organized, well-respected in the insurance profession, and raised her children to be independent in the same manner.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Robert A. Stoll, Jr. of Lubbock; three children, Shannon Robinson and husband, Kory, of Abilene, Amber Ratliff and husband, Jason, of Lubbock, and Nic Stoll of Lubbock; two sisters, Vicki Wooden of Rochester, Michigan, and Linda Etgen and husband, David, of Grapevine; and five grandchildren: Campbell, Payton, Kayl, Phoenix, and Bekah. She was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Landry Robinson.
