Craig Dyas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sanders Funeral Home - Lubbock on Mar. 28, 2026.
Today we announce the passing of Craig Dyas, a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather . Craig, born on July 17, 1944, in Shelby, Nebraska , departed this life on March 27, 2026, in Lubbock, Texas. He is survived by his sister, Shonda Qualls.

After graduating from Aurora High School in 1962, Craig pursued his passion for flying. Instructed by his father, Craig never lost his love of aviation. One of his biggest challenges in life was when he embraced sobriety in October of 1987. AA provided him an effective tool to face his addiction.

Craig will be remembered by his wife, Jackie, as well as his children: Matt, Shelby, Mark, Blaine, Luke and Anna-Claire. His grandchildren Brynlee, Blake, Jaxon, Zach, and Allison called him Grumpa. Blake's son, Greyson, made him a Great Grumpa!

Craig was known for handing out wintergreen lifesavers to everyone he came in contact with.

He was an unapologetic, lifelong lover of chocolate, coffee and coke. He loved his ill behaved dog Scout and was often heard saying, "Most dogs are better than most people."

Craig spent his life doing what he most loved-flying. He served others with loyalty, a remarkable work ethic, and a warm, friendly smile. On this, his final flight, friends and family say "Go"
