Olga Champion Obituary

Olga Champion LUBBOCK-Funeral mass for Olga Champion, 58, of Lubbock will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Petersburg with Father Jacob Puthuparambil officiating, Interment will be in the Petersburg Cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Olga passed away on Jan. 11, 2017, at UMC surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Feb. 8, 1958, in San Diego, Texas, to her late parents; Jorge and Victoria Silvas. Olga married Johnny Champion on April 21, 1979, in Petersburg. He passed away on April 18, 2005. Olga graduated from Petersburg in 1977 and was employed by Texas Instruments for 19 years before she was employed by Learn Inc for 15 years. She was a loving person with a Big Heart who devoted her life to caring for Billy (disabled son) and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by three sons, Bobby Champion (Mary), Billy Champion, and Joseph Meza (Misty); one daughter, Veronica Flores (Roy); two stepdaughters, Yolanda and Sylvia Champion; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind three brothers, David Silvas (Mary), Jacob Silvas (Mary), Oscar Silvas (Tina); and three sisters, Elma Moreno (Dario), Gloria Costilla (Steve) and Delia Silvas.
