Robert W. Banks DENVER CITY- Funeral services for Robert W. Bob Banks, 58, of Denver City will be conducted on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Denver City with Reverend Randy Butler officiating assisted by Reverend Marty Akins. Interment will follow at the Denver City Memorial Park Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City. Bob went to be with our Lord on April 26, 2013 in Denver City. Robert W. Bob Banks was born on Jan. 22, 1955 in Munich, Germany to Elmer A. and Lena Banks. He married Nona Banks on June 21, 1974 in Sisters, Ore. Robert served in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1985 was a Staff Sergeant. He has been co-owner of Denver City Ace Hardware since 1993, a member of the First Baptist Church, a member of Denver City Masonic Lodge # 1278 and was a Past Master. He was also involved in His Hands Ministry, Emmaus Community, Epiphany, Economic Development Corporation, and was an Ambassador of the Denver City Chamber of Commerce. Bob was preceded in death by parents, Elmer and Lena Banks, and a brother, David Banks. He is survived by his wife, Nona Banks of Denver City; his son, Robert W. Banks II and his wife Janette of Denver City; five grandchildren; five brothers, Jimmy Banks, Tommy Banks, Bruce Banks, Brian Banks, and Skip Banks; two sisters, Sheryl Lentfer and Deborah Foote; along with the Holland family, the Banks family and many friends. Visitation with family and friends will be Wednesday, May 1, 2013 beginning at 7 p.m. in the Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel in Denver City. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
