Russell Griswold Obituary

Russell W. Griswold LUBBOCK-Services for Russell W. Griswold will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014, at St. John's United Methodist Church at 1501 University Ave. Russell passed away June 24, 2014, surrounded by his family. Russell was married to Sonya (Henry) Griswold for 45 years. She preceded him in death Dec. 18, 2007. Russell was a member of St John's UMC since the 1950's while he attended Texas Tech University. Russell worked for Marquis Supply Co for 30 years retiring in 1997. Russell enjoyed golf, watching it and playing, and watching football as well as teaching computers at the computer lab at the Senior Citizens Center. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Viola Griswold. He is survived by his son, Jim Griswold and wife, Dallas and their three children, Sarah, Max and Ryan; his daughter, Jane Aland, her fianc , Storm Murry and her two children, Matt and Mariah Aland, and his special little man, Jerimiah; he is also survived by his brother, Tommy Griswold from Brownsville, Texas; he is also survived by his brother and sisters-in-law, Jack and Nancy Henry, and Molly Colvin all of Odessa, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to especially thank the nurses at Covenant who cared for him during his hospitalization, Lauren, Amanda, Nathan, Annie, and Alexa, as well as Dr Joseph Martinez, Tim Boomer PA-C, Dr Nevan Baldwin and Devon McCoy PA-C. The family would also like to thank BrightStar HealthCare, the staff at Raider Ranch, and the team at Hospice of the South Plains, Mindy, Sheila, Len, Susan, Elouise, Mary and Robin. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to the Benevolence Committee at St Johns UMC or the Alzheimer's Association
