I feel so fortunate to have met and helped Shawna in her fight with cancer. She was and is an Angel that God had to call back which is our loss. In all my years of nursing I have never met such a peaceful, loving, optimistic individual who graciously accepted everything thrown at her!! My prayers are out to Shaughn who I know is struggling with his great loss and there is not one day that goes by that I don't think about them and wish I could take the pain away. Her Oncologist, Dr. Kristi McIntyre and myself talk about her often and miss the two of them so much.

Much love Shaughn, you are in my prayers,

Love Nancy

I worked with Brenda and Shawna several years ago at LSMA and they were both very special people. Brenda was an excellent nurse, a friend to all, and obviously a dedicated, loving mother. Shawna was kind, extremely intelligent and gorgeous. She was walking sunshine. She had it all and everyone knew she was going to be a star. She radiated happiness, strength and love.

It was devastating to learn of her cancer, but how she handled it was truly amazing. She was loved by all her friends and relatives, her parents, and Shaughn, the love of her life. Everyone who met her, loved her, and it was a privilege to have known her in her short, yet accomplished life. She is indeed a star in heaven now--pure "sunshine".

My prayers are with you all,
