Timothy Dovel Obituary

Timothy Eugene Dovel SLATON-Services for Timothy Eugene Dovel, 57, of Lubbock, will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2015, with Ron Ledgerwood officiating at Sunset Church of Christ in Lubbock with burial in Southland's Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Tim was born on Oct. 4, 1957, in Tulia to Milton Eugene and Lanelle (Copeland) Dovel. He passed from this life on Friday, June 5, 2015. He grew up in Tulia, graduating from Tulia High School in 1976 and later attended Abilene Christian College. He began his career in hair styling and had a variety of occupations through the years and was employed by Gander Mountain. Tim married Debra Crawford on Aug. 3, 1985, in Lubbock. Tim was a member of the Sunset Church of Christ. Those who survive him include his wife, Debra of the home; son, Brody Eugene and wife, Lauren Dovel of Lubbock; granddaughters, Brooklynn, and Branzlee Dovel; his parents, Milton and Lanelle Dovel of Tulia; siblings, Mark Dovel of Odessa, Joe Paul Dovel of Jarrell, Mary Beth Todd, and Mendy and husband, Scott Taylor, of Lubbock. Memorials are suggested to the Sunset School of Preaching.
