AARON MAGRUDER Obituary

AARON MAGRUDER Despite the valiant and extraordinary efforts of the many medical staff members at Summerlin Hospital, Aaron James Magruder quietly passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, after a heart attack Friday, July 30, 2016. Aaron was born April 19, 1961, in the Hyde Park area of Chicago, a couple days after a late snowfall that year. Much to his mother's surprise and bewilderment, he entered the world at well over eight pounds and grew rapidly, to a point where a visitor remarked "That's the most man-like baby I've ever seen!" Aaron came to Las Vegas when his parents moved there in July 1968, attended the public schools and was in the first graduating class of Bonanza High School, where he excelled in the shop classes. He also enjoyed playing with the tennis and golf teams at Bonanza, the latter of which practiced at the Desert Inn Golf Club Course. He developed his considerable skills working in construction all his life with materials of just about all types, including wood, metals, wallboard, as well as marinated steaks on a grill. He was always generous, sharing his master craft talents with all that asked for his help and with many of those that didn't but where and when he saw the need and knew he could use his time and effort to help. He is survived by his loving wife, of 35 years, Dawn Kathleen (nee Hinson); his beautiful daughter, Brittany Lynne Magruder; his son, Dustin James Magruder; his parents, Allen and Libbie Maguder; and his brother, Wade Allen Magruder (Kristen). There will be a memorial gathering of family and friends at noon Monday, Aug. 8, in the Social Hall at Christ Lutheran Church, 111 N. Torrey Pines Drive, Las Vegas.

To all of the Magruder family. So sorry for your loss. My heart sunk to find he had passed so suddenly I knew Aaron in high school. He was a good friend and hopefully he had a good life.

Dawn and Family, Ted and I were so sorry to hear about Aaron. Mere words cannot express our sadness. We hope that you and yours will rely on your faith in the Heavenly Father, family and friends to help you through this trying time. I didn't know Aaron as well as I would have liked, but what I did know was that he was a good man that loved you all so much. Family was everything to him.
