Allen Poe Obituary

ALLEN POE Edgar Allen Poe, 87, of Las Vegas, passed away Dec. 15, 2010. He was born March 20, 1923, in Centreville, Ala., and was a 51-year resident of Nevada. He was a first sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a retired blackjack dealer. Allen will be best remembered for his great generosity, kindness, those beautiful bright blue eyes and a flair for life having adventured to Havana, Cuba in his earlier years, where he worked in the casinos. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Ollie Poe; and brothers, James and Roy. Allen is survived by his wife, Peggy Faye, with whom they recently celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary Dec. 8; daughters, Billie Faye Clark of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Lisa (Ian) Howfield of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Ken Trichak, Michael Trichak and Kyle Root; brothers, Robert Poe, Steve (Susan) Poe, Noah (Frances) Poe; and sisters, Sara (Jack) Baker, Eula Mae Fuller and Mary Ruth Maze. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd. in Boulder City.

Allen Poe is my first cousin. His Mother , Miss Ollie and my Dad Roy Cash were brother & sister. I will miss Allen as we always enjoyed being w/ him at reunion and visits to Las Vegas. My love to Lisa & Peggy.
