Carlos Vicuna Obituary

CARLOS VICUNA Beloved brother, uncle and friend, Carlos Atienza Vicuna, 56, departed this earth Monday, Oct. 31, 2006 of natural causes in Las Vegas. 'Charlie' or 'Uncle Charlie', was endeared by many for his genuine thirst for knowledge and his considerate and thoughtful disposition. Born Sept. 16, 1950, in Lucena, Philippines, Charlie, attended Don Bosco and earned his degree in foreign service at Ateneo De Manila. He further pursued his study of languages in Europe attaining fluency in numerous vernacular of the continent including Spanish and French. Upon completion, he returned to his country of birth and launched Cross Creek Trading, Inc., a shipping brokerage which he owned and operated prior to his arrival in Las Vegas where he worked at Citi Bank and America West/U.S. Airways for almost two decades. A consummate world traveler with great passion for people, culture and arts, he has made many friends through-out the world who will miss him immensely. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Francisco Vicuna and Catalina Atienza; and brother, Adolfo. He is survived by his siblings, Vinedo (wife, Josefina), Dr. Joselo (wife Rosario), Will (wife Felicidad) and Aurora Karr; nephews and nieces, Vincent, Dennis and Cecille, Valerie, Drs. Brian and Mylene, Francisco 'Cocoy' and Anne, Jeffrey, Joselo Jr. 'Joe', Bernadette , Jasper, Will Jr., and Dr. Emma Vicuna; grand-nephews and nieces, Nolan, Gyasi, Jasmine, Jade, Victoria, Francisco III 'CJ', Christine, Charlize, and Bryson Vicuna. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3 and 4, with a rosary and eulogy Saturday at 6 p.m., all at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones in Las Vegas (702) 464-8420. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. with burial to follow.
