Charles Paine Obituary

CHARLES PAINE Charles "Chuck" Allan Paine, 69, of Las Vegas, passed from this life Sept. 17, 2013, from a stroke. He was the son of Howard Allan and Crystal Paine. Chuck moved to Las Vegas in 1951 with his family, when his father transferred to the new TiMet plant in Henderson. He attended Bishop Gorman High School and, upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and traveled the world. He stated that his experience was worth a million dollars, but he wouldn't take a million dollars to do it again. When he finished his active duty tour with the U.S. Navy, he attended UNLV and the University of San Diego School of Law. After passing the bar, he worked for the Clark County District Attorney's Office until he retired. He enjoyed his part-time retirement job as a judge pro-tem. Chuck's many interests included gourmet cooking, traveling, woodworking, talking politics, working on computers, taking on his family's and friend's projects and loving his two Jack Russell terriers. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sisters, Crystal Compese and Nancy (Denny) Sampson; the love of his life, Shirley Williams; numerous nieces and nephews and their children; and his pets, Katie and Calvin. In addition to his extended family, Chuck leaves behind many lifelong friends. We will greatly miss his honesty, integrity, generosity, love, laughter and fabulous desserts. Services are private.

Doesn't appear that my submissions are going thru. Trying again.
Its been 12 years today since you passed away. I miss you so very much and know Katie and Calvin are with you bringing you all kinds of joy.
Ron passed away this year on Aug 18, he was undergoing treatment for brain and bone cancer. He tragically past away due to a fall. Its been a tremendous loss for us all especailly my mom since she will be 92 in a few weeks.
Not much has really been going on this past year. Lots of thoughts of what life would be with you here by my side. My little puppy Archie brings me comfort and keeps me on my toes - he is 4 now and still full of energy. Doesn't talk to me like Calvin did and I miss that. I miss alot of things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10 YEARS HAVE GONE BY - My heart mourns the heartbreaking loss of you. I continue to miss and think of you daily wondering what adventures you've been up too. Each year gets harder and harder for me, maybe due to the aging process, grief or just being left alone without YOU, Katie and Calvin. LOVE ALWAY AND FOREVER, SHIRLEY

Its been 9 years now, SADLY. This year has been a little different than the last two, we are now in a recession and the stock market is very bearish. Queen Elizabeth II past away on 9-8, I'm sure ALL in heaven were glad to see her. I truly miss you my love, Katie Babies and my Calvin Boy. I think Archie likes looking into the river out on the deck as if you all are with him, he's a sweet loving puppy. Some unfortunate things happened this year that I'm still processing, wish you were here out in the forest with me drinking a glass of wine out on the deck as we wait to catch a big salmon. FYI, Shawn is doing really well living on his own with Anne for a number of years now - you would be proud of him. Kids are back at school without having to wear a mask, the supply chain is broke, inflation has caused gas, food, etc prices to sky rocket and another housing crash may occur due to hikes in interest rate. Stephanie and her daughter Riley moved into there new house with a pool a month ago. Everyone came up to WA for the 4th of July this year (us kids, mom and ron and their dog Sam). I think of you every day and miss you so very much.......................

Its been 8 years now since your passing and I miss you so very much. I lost our Calvin boy on Jan 1, I'm still heart broken and know both Calvin and Katie are with you. Covid is still with us, kids wearing masks to school, cops hands are tied behind there backs, everyone has to wear a mask in public places, folks aren't going back to work which has caused major shortages and now grocery stores are limiting what you buy. I pressure canned a lot of vegetables from my garden this year and canned apples, plums, pears and peaches. My post on the 17th didn't go through, I think of you many times a day and miss and love you so very much. I have a Cavapoo puppy (Archie) who was born Feb 15 that keeps me company.

Chuck was an incredible guy. Professionally, he helped me when I went to work for the city by sharing his knowledge and experience in government civil (something I knew little about). Personally, when I built my house, Chuck and Bob Teuton came over after work and taught me how to lay a tile floor. So many great memories of this special person. The world could use more of his kind.

Good morning my love. Its been 7 long years and we miss you so very much. Calvin had a very rough spell, but he is getting better. So much has happened in 2020, covid-19 shutting down the US, riots, way to many fires making
the air hazardous due to all the smoke, especially up here in WA. Tell Katie we miss and love her too! I love you so much and wish you were still here with us.........

It's been 6 long years since I lost you. I miss you so very much and think of you ALL THE TIME. It's been really rough on me this last month remembering things that happened each day you were in the hospital and hospice care. Tell Katie, Calvin misses her. We love you so very much!!!!!!!

Chuck, It was my privilege to know you for the last 15 years. You were always so kind to me and my family. You truly cared about others and the world around you. I miss hearing the political updates when I come by. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. You will be missed. Each of my boys have a quilt that you embroidered for them. They are a nice memory of the good guy your were. Thanks, Debbie

Chuck was a great attorney but an even better friend. When I built my house so many years ago, Chuck and Bob Teuton came over to lay my floor tile. Years later, I needed help at the city, and Chuck and Mike Douglas ( Mr. justice) brought me all their research and educated me. I'm so lucky to have had such a great person in my life. We are all the some of who we meet and what they teach us. My life and this city is a better place because of Chuck. Say hi to Rex when you see him. And, thank you.

Chuck, you were a terrific man. Thank you for being a huge part of moms (Shirley) life. You will be greatly missed. Two of our favorite memories are when you and mom made Madison her apron and were teaching her to cook at a very young age and the other when you made Madison her beautiful toy box that she insisted on sitting in. Good times will be missed!

Chuck you checked out of the action on earth way too early. I always enjoyed running into you at the courthouse or someplace since high school and catching up on things. It was fun to talk about shooting and ballistics. Being too lazy myself to hunt, I enjoyed your tales of hunting trips and success with the shot. Good beard in that photo. Goodbye for now, see you down the trail. John Cahill
