Charlotte Stern Obituary

CHARLOTTE STERN Charlotte Stern, 91, passed away Friday April 24, 2009, in St. Louis. Known by her many friends as Chotzie (Little Sweetheart), she was born in New York City, grew up in Lafayette, Ind., raised her family for 45 years in the Los Angeles and Santa Monica area, retired to Las Vegas, moved on to Portland, Ore., and finally to St. Louis. A graduate of Ohio State University, Chotzie was a housewife and mother for all of her years. She was one of the founding members of Temple Isaiah (Los Angeles) and remained active in Temple affairs during her time in Los Angeles. She joins her husband, Gerald Stern who passed in 1994. She is survived by her sons, Michael Stern (Joan) of St. Louis, Rick Stern (Kay) of Ridgefield, Wash., and Bob Stern (Karen) of New Bedford, Mass.; grandchildren, Dan, Tom, Jim, Alex, Bill, Rachel, Zack and Monty Stern; and great-grandchildren, Sierra and Monty Stern. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas.
