CHERE MCGHIE

1934 - 2018

CHERE MCGHIE Chere R. McGhie, 84, left this world surrounded by her family November 16, 2018. She was born March 25, 1934, in Afton, WY. Chere lived in various cities in Idaho until settling in Logan, UT, where she finished school, married, and had her only child. Divorcing in 1960, she married "Mac" McGhie in 1963. They lived in Layton, UT with their three sons until moving to Las Vegas in 1966. In 1967, they founded Chermac Builders, Inc. Chere worked with her husband to get the company started, after which she stayed home dedicating her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren. After Mac's death in 1991, she moved to Ivins, UT living next door to her sister Nyla for 18 years. In 2013, Chere moved back to Las Vegas to be with family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mac McGhie; parents, Orville and Inger Rolph; brother, Layle; sister, Diantha; Daughter-in-law, Tamara; and several brother-in-laws and nephews. Chere is survived by sons, Scott McGhie, Kent (Jennifer) McGhie, Mark (Chiemi) McGhie; brother, Gary Rolph; sisters, Nyla Glover, Sharon Fullmer, and Christine Boozer; and numerous grandchildren. Her final years were spent with Mark and Chiemi, and their children, Gabby (Brian) Casey, Aubi (Omar) Foster, Ali (Bryce) Masek, Tyler Floyd and Trevor Floyd. Her great grandson, Uriah, brought smiles to her face in her last days. Missing her terribly, we cling to the eternal hope found only in Christ Jesus that we will be reunited with her in His glorious Kingdom. A celebration of her life will be at 11 a.m. Sat., Dec. 1, at Central Church at 1001 New Beginnings Dr., Henderson, NV.
