Kawiki,

It has been a year since you've been gone, and it's still hard to believe. It seems like just yesterday we would all meet up on a Friday and Saturday night and just go wherever the wind takes us. We all look back on those times with a feeling of nostalgia, and I know I'll be seeing you again. Everyone still misses you a great deal and you'll never be forgotten. RIP Kawiki.

Dear Dave, I don't even know if you will see this note since it has been 8 mo. since you lost your son. Believe me, I am in SHOCK & my heart breaks for you and Lorna. I don't know why these things happen to good families. I never had the pleasure of meeting Kawika, but I feel as if I know him because you spoke of him so often when we worked together at TI. He was your pride and joy. After reading all of these entiries, it is obvious that he was an incredible kid and had such a positive impact on so many people from all over the country, in his short life. You should be very proud of the son you raised. It is with tears in my eyes and pain in my heart that I write this. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and may God bless you & your family and bring you some comfort in Kawika's memories. My deepest condolences.

kaweeka weeka...!
You're truly missed by many. I'll be coming home this Friday for Christmas break..Walking into LVAC will only bring back memories of every year when I came back for break..I'll be sure to flex in the mirror for you. Miss you Kawika...You are loved and missed by many.
If I had one wish to make
I'd use it up on you.
Just to see you one more time
In the heavenly sky so blue
All I have are the memories
The good ones and the bad
The day you finally let it go
And left me more than sad
I wish that you could come back here
And fill back up this hole
You put it there a month ago
When your body left your soul
You always made me feel special
You were always there it seems
But after all this is too big
It's only wishful Dreams.

RIP Kawika
Love, Brittany

Kawika I only knew you as a younger man but you were my best buddy I didn't get to see you much as you grew into a man unless at the gym just for a minute but I will never forget the great time we had in hawaii with you and your family. Now I will cherish those moments even more. I will miss you and the times we had. Much sorrow and love to you dear loving family.....KC Karas

Dave, Lorna and Ohana, It is with such a heavy heart that I attempt to convey to you the great sadness I feel or how my whole family here in Hawaii feel about the loss of Kawika. His smile, his laughter, his humour and his love of life and family will remain in our hearts forever. He was such a good uncle to Alexis, Kaylee, Chloe and Madison and I'm sure their memories of him will never be forgotten. Kimo Boy and Aryana may not remember him too much, but I'm sure their parents will tell them about him when they're older. You are all in our thoughts and prayers and the Good Lord is there to help you and guide you through this sorrowful times. Kawika was a little angel sent down by God to share his life with you for a short period of almost 21 years but who is now being called back by God, but leaving you with such wonderful memories to hold in your heart. He will be surely missed by all who had the chance to know and love him. I know I will.

How many happy memories I have of the little boy that traveled from Hawaii to Racine, WI.to live. On one of his first days, he and I walked, hand in hand to the park, and as we walked he saw a squirrel. At age 5, this was his first, as they didn't have any in Hawaii. We walked very quietly to get as close to it as we could. He was so excited. I remember him and Lorna in the backyard at night watching the fireflies dancing around their heads. They were both enchanted by the little green lights floating in the night air. I can still feel him curled up in my lap, rocking in the chair, waiting for his mother to come home from work. Then there was the time he thought it was a good idea to pee in the kitty litter box. Kawika was a happy & loving child. I am sorry that I did not know the wonderful young man that he had become. I know this because of all the kind and touching memories that so many of you shared.

Lorna and Dave,

I cannot express my overwhelming sadness for the loss of your son. Kawika was very special to the Wilde's and shared in many of our family experiences. So much so, he was considered our third son. He was best of friends to my two boys and shared with them over the years countless good times. He was always welcome in our home and always had an undeniable spirit and zest for life. Those boys never stopped for a moment experiencing what brought them happiness. For myself and on behalf of the Wilde family you should know from the bottom of my heart that your son Kawika was truly special and will be dearly missed for many years to come. God has got himself a good one.

Lorna and Dave~ There are no words that can convey the pain our family feels at your loss. You both know that Kawika was like a son to me and a brother to my kids. We shared so many awesome times with Kawika not only in our everyday life but on vacations too. While our hearts are breaking at this loss, I do smile at all the little memories that keep popping through my mind...like all the times I'd come downstairs and he was munching a bowl of cereal at the kitchen table all by himself...so content and happy to be in our home. Just one of the kids! I think of all the things he shared with my family...Halo night, movie night, pool time, golfing, skate-boarding and even the love of motorcycles that he shared so passionately with Griffin. Those memories are what will hold us all close as we try to make some sense of this. He will forever live in the hearts of our family and we thank you both so very much for sharing your son with us! I know he's watching over us all...Heaven's most free-spirited angel. May God bless you both~

During High School...Kawika spent a lot of nights and weekends at our home with Phillip and our family. We will always remember him as a wonderful young man, who had a contagious personality and a million dollar smile. I cannot tell you how many hours Kawika and Phillip spent at the gym working out, planning for Homecoming, Prom, Graduation and working on their car and truck sound systems. They loved their music! God has called him home and we will forever miss him. Our prayers go out to David and Lorna.
