FRANCES SHARPE Obituary

FRANCES SHARPE Frances "Fran" Helena Beatty Sharpe, 67, passed away June 11, 2012, in Las Vegas. She was born July 8, 1944, in Detroit. She moved to Las Vegas in 1959, graduated Rancho High School in 1962, and later took classes at UNLV. She was as generous with her time as she was in sharing her fabulous sense of humor. Fran lived the same way she loved, unconditionally. She never held anything back and always knew the importance of showering love and joy upon her husband, children, grandchildren, brother and sister, other relatives and friends. Fran is survived by her extraordinary husband, of 46 years, John; her son, Kirk; son, John Jr. (Dawn) of Apple Valley, Calif.; her daughter, Rachele (Rafael) Barrett; her grandchildren, Hunter and Sierra of Yakima, Wash., Isabelle and Elizabeth of Apple Valley, and Austin, Asher and Arabella Barrett; her brother, Thomas (Sharon) Beatty; her sister, Sharon Edwards of Henderson; her mother-in-law, Geraldine "Jerry" Sharpe; her sister-in-law, Dianna (Jim) Menzel; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncle; and too many wonderful friends to count. All of us will be hard-pressed to match Fran's beautiful ability to love and laugh whole-heartedly; and perhaps most of all, the way just one of her hugs could nurture your entire soul. Each of us will feel her loss just as deeply as we all felt the depth of her love and her friendship, including her ever-loyal canine companion, Captain. Services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 23, at Hope Baptist Church, South Valley Campus, 850 E. Cactus Ave. in Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Fran was a happy, positive, energetic, loyal friend. John I am so sorry you lost Fran when she was just too young. I hope all is OK with you after all of these years.

My grandma and I, when she was battling her first round of cancer, she was smiling brightly and positively while we sat next to the baby.

The best grandmother ever to me. She is and always has been treasured deep within my heart, and I will always think of her and love her. I could write and write about how special and important to me she was, and still is. My grandmother was a beautiful and radiant soul, and this radiance touched all whom she met. She has done so much for me and sometimes, I don't know what I would have done without her. I aspire to be like my grandmother someday. I love you, my granny Frannie. <3 "It won't be long, we'll meet again, you're memory is never passing. It won't be long, we'll meet again, my love for you is everlasting." -Hunter Marie Sharpe

My Aunt Fran was the most amazing woman in the world! Her heart was full or love for everyone, she always had the most kind words to say, she was so easy to talk to about anything and she would always make time to talk to you no matter what. She loved her family and friends with all her heart and was loved the same in return. She will be so very missed but never ever forgotten. We all know with her faith that Fran is in Heaven with others she loved and lost. I love you so much and I will miss you so very very much! You were always there for me and loved me my whole life. I'm blessed to say that I have the pleasure to call you my Aunt Fran! You will missed by so many but we will all meet again someday. I love you Fran!

The world has lost an amazing woman! Fran was one of the warmest and most caring people I've ever known. She helped so many MGM Grand cast members and families. Fran would never hesitate to help, listen and encourage. So sorry she slipped away too soon.

You were so beautiful to me. From the moment I was born I was blessed with the most wonderful big sister. You took care of me and always loved me. Throughout the years we laughed and played and, occasionally, cried together. There was always so much joy in our relationship as sisters and as best friends. Our brother and I will miss you always but the beautiful memories will live forever. Love forever from your baby sister.

Dear Fran,
We were such good friends so very long ago before I moved away and we slowly lost touch. You overflowed with love and kindness and we shared so much. I am so thankfull that Bill and I introduced you to John, Bill's best friend, and that you and John had such a full and happy life with a beautiful family and wonderful friends. You deserved the very best. You will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives you touched, even so very long ago. Rest in Peace Dear Fran.

Mommy, words can't describe how much I miss you. My heart hurts. You are the most beautiful person inside and out. I wish God gave you more time with us because you had so much more life in you to live. I know you're not hurting anymore and are with our Lord. Thank you for the privilege of being your daughter. I love you with all of my heart and soul.
Love Always,
Rachele XOXOXO
