George Saphire Obituary

GEORGE SAPHIRE III George Michael Saphire, III, 27, of Las Vegas, passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2007. He was born May 29, 1979, in Las Vegas, and resided in Nevada for 20 years. George was an artist and fine art sales professional. He received his bachelor of arts from UNLV, and general art studies at Columbia College, Chicago. George was preceded in death by his grandfathers, George Joseph Saphire of Las Vegas, and Sabastain Mangano of St. Louis. He is survived by his life partner, of nine years, James Michael Wood of Las Vegas; father, George Joseph Saphire of Las Vegas; mother, Judith Ann Rehkop of St. Louis; brother, Frank Miller of Las Vegas; sister, Gina Angelo of St. Louis; aunt and godmother, Deborah West; aunt, Christine Saphire; aunt, Kathleen Rodriguez; uncle, Greg, all of Las Vegas; uncle, Sam Mangano of Washington D.C.; grandmother, Rudell Saphire of Las Vegas; grandmother, Alice Marie Pierson of St. Louis; and numerous other close relatives. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89129. Contributions may be made to AFAN, (702)382-2326.
