HEATHER SANCHEZ Obituary

HEATHER SANCHEZ Heather Sanchez, 45, of Las Vegas, was suddenly called to Heaven Monday, Sept. 12, 2016. Heather was born in Roswell, N.M., to Tommy Sanchez and Evelyn Sanchez, where she graduated from Roswell High School and later went on to earn her bachelor's and master's degrees. Prior to landing in Las Vegas in the early 1990's, she lived in Las Cruces, N.M., and Albuquerque, N.M. She was a 20-year employee of NV Energy and was an avid volunteer in the Las Vegas community. When she wasn't participating in various volunteer activities, she could be found at the softball fields or basketball courts watching her daughters play. Having just attended her son's graduation from bootcamp, she was a proud U.S. Army mom. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Rosendo and Mary G. Macias; and paternal grandparents, Isidoro and Leandra G. Sanchez. She is survived by her son, Jimmy-Albert Melendez of Rio Rancho, N.M.; daughters, Tatianna and Tiare Lee, both of Las Vegas; mother, Evelyn Sanchez of Las Vegas; father and stepmom, Tommy and Nancy Sanchez of Roswell; sister, Autumn Sanchez of Las Vegas; and many aunts, uncles and cousins throughout the United States. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive.

My friend and party connoisseur. I want to say that It will be 4 yrs this September 16th and it feels like it was yesterday. I always think of the happy person and fun person that you were. You taught me to live each day and make the best of it and not think twice or second guess myself. No matter what hardships you were going through at times you always smiled or made the turmoils look easy as you tackled each thing with a swoosh or two and kept going. I would just watch you at times when visiting how you just carried on even with 3 children and school like it was just LIFE. I know you did all of it to be an example to your children and say I did it went to college while i juggled a job and children so there is no excuse to not be able to tackle LIFE. Im sorry that as we grew up we started to drift a bit because of kids, marriage, school etc but I had to accept those times that we just enjoyed LIFE and not have a care in the world were behind us. I love you my friend and will always have a special place in my heart .since day one when I met you at my first job - Circuit City you always made it a point to make me feel welcomed there and went out of your way to see that I was ok in this city of ours... you were like a mother figure when we went out and sharks (guys) would approach me you would just tell them to leave us alone we were there to just dance. I guess you would forget I was older and just moved from NY so I could pretty much take care of myself. I always smile when I think of you and when I drive by the street Edna where you lived back in the day. I know you're an angel now and watch over all of us but specially your children because that is YOU. Its ok if they make an error or two Heather that's how they will learn from their own mistakes. I LOVE YOU AND UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN...

Hello,

It's been almost 2 1/2 years since Heather's passing, and when I came across the information, I was devastated to hear it. I graduated with Heather from University of Phoenix in 2004; we were a group of 4 that met every Saturday morning at 6:30am at Nevada Power. Heather worked the night shift, so we met in the early morning, so Heather could be with her children during the day and to work her night hours. I am so sad to hear this... we stayed in touch for awhile after we graduated in 2004, but in 2008 I moved to Germany for a job and we just lost touch. I will let know Rhoda and Ray know of the passing of such a wonderful person!

I will never forget the class we had together where Heather froze during our group presentation; I came to the front - stated we were having technical difficulties and that we would come back to her later- Rhoda, Ray and I presented our parts, and Heather got her and her smile together and completed her part. For graduation, we rented a limo and went to an Irish Pub for dinner and drinks!! Was a wonderful celebration... we had such a good time. I wish we had pictures- instagram, snapchat or something! But it was 2004 and it wasn't a "thing" then! LOL Such a lovely person.. she will be missed.

Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Our sincere condolences to Heather's children, parents and family. Our heart goes out to each of you. She was a dear friend of our daughter, Roberta. Even though they lived miles apart they kept in touch. Heather came to see us at our hotel room last summer while we were in Las Vegas. She was so excited to see us and always so full of life and happy. She had us all laughing. She updated us about herself and shared her children's pictures with us. She was so proud of each of you. I know she will be missed. Our prayers go out to each one of you for peace and comfort during these hard times and always.

Thinking of you my friend. You are now in heaven and can watch over your loved ones especially your children to guide them to the goodness in life and to keep faith and lead them away from the evils in this world. You can rest knowing you set yourself as an excellent example as a mom. We all will keep you in our hearts forever

Heather was my co-worker and a dear friend. I will miss her smile and her laugh. I will also miss our long talks about her children whom she loved so much. I pray the family takes comfort in knowing how much she loved them. I know she's an angel in heaven. Rest in peace my dear friend.
