JAMES HUANG James C. Huang, of Henderson passed away peacefully Sept. 25, 2016. Jim was born Aug. 28, 1937, in Shanghai, China. After fleeing with his family to Taiwan, Jim served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Jim earned a B.S. degree in civil engineering from Chun Yuan University in Taiwan. In 1964, he immigrated to the United States, where he attended the University of Missouri at Rolla and earned a M.S. degree in civil engineering. In 1970, Jim married his wife, Stella, in Albany, N.Y. Jim worked for the New York State Department of Health, where he helped develop and manage the state's Environmental Radiation Surveillance Program from 1966 until his retirement in 2001. In retirement, Jim and Stella moved from their longtime home in Voorheesville, N.Y. to Henderson to be closer to their children. In addition to Stella, Jim is survived by his children, Sandra and Eric; and his granddaughter, Caroline. We will miss his love of good food and his wonderful sense of humor. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation in his memory to the American Diabetes Association.
