JEFFREY JARRELL Jeffrey "Jeff" Mark Jarrell, age 57, of Henderson, passed away suddenly Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015, at his home in Chloride, Ariz. Jeff was born July 7, 1957, in Jackson, Ohio, to parents, Beverly Bragg and the late David C. Jarrell. Jeff had a remarkable love for nature and science, especially in the fields of herpetology and geology. As a young boy, he was known for his explorations of southern Ohio in pursuit of prime reptile and geologic locations. In the early 1980's, Jeff ventured west to pursue a new career and explore the deserts of Arizona, Nevada and points beyond. His knowledge in geology expanded which lead him to a very interesting and successful hobby of mineral and gold mining. His hobby soon turned into his life's passion. Jeff was retired from the Construction Laborers Union of Nevada. After a few years of retirement, he went back to work as a Special Inspector throughout southern Nevada and San Bernardino County, Calif. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol (nee Mall) Jarrell; mother, Beverly Bragg; stepfather, Gene Bragg; sisters, Jill Downard (Bruce), Jayne Callahan (Lester) and Julie Weber (Brandon); stepson, Ford Minton; nephews, Jarrell Callahan, Tyler Weber, Blake Weber and Brian Schlener; nieces, Sara Weber and Jenell Bowser; and beloved pets, Macie and Peanut. Public viewing will be 1-3 p.m. (MST) Friday, Jan. 23, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, 1701 Sycamore Ave., Kingman, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Jeff.
