My name is Vicki Huber Haas. I have known John since I was a little girl. My father "Arkey Huber" worked up at the Nevada Test site along with my Uncle Chester Huber and that is where my dad met John. John had been a great family friend since I believe 1960's. When my father stopped working at the test John and Arkey remained friends until the death of my father in 1995. At which time, John was the first by mine and my sisters side. He met with the Las Vegas RJ reporter and proceeded to give the details of my fathers life with every mission my dad flew in WWII and every metal he had acquired. But there is more to this story. John was always at my father's home, sitting at the breakfast bar shooting the bull with my dad and I, but the best was watching these two men giving each other hell and chuckling all the while. Him and his driving hat, it seemed he was never without it. John was just CLASS but could relate to any good man or woman. John has a special place in my heart and in my memories. Love to his family, you have been so blessed to have him.

My name is Mary Nelson Feeney and I worked for John at the test site when I was 19 and 20 years old. (I'll be 72 on Friday). I wanted you to know what a wonderful, nice and respected man we all thought he was. When he would get upset with one of us he'd call us "insubordinate." We thought that was so funny ( his military coming out) but he was so serious which made it even funnier. Sorry for your loss.

Our deepest sympathies go to the family of
John. He was a great friend to my Father, Arkey Huber and a wonderful person. We still remember his T-Bird! He will missed as one of the "Greatest Generation men".
