KARAN LAURIE

KARAN LAURIE Karan Ann Laurie, 62, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at a local hospital. She was born April 27, 1950, in Dearborn, Mich., and was a long-time resident of Las Vegas. A former escrow officer, she then worked for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and, after retiring, pursued one of her passions, doing nails. She attended a local beauty college and earned her manicurist license. She worked at several salons in Las Vegas and Henderson, and loved interacting with her clients and co-workers. Her nail art was incredible as she also possessed an innate artistic talent from drawing to painting. She was a generous and loving person to all who knew her and truly had a heart of gold. Karan had an amazing sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She enjoyed being around people of all ages and was a rare good listener. She always had "her kitties" and will be seeing all of them again at the Rainbow Bridge. She was preceded in death by her parents, David W. and Lucille Laurie. She is survived by her sister, Deb Laurie of Goodyear, Ariz.; and her brother, Craig Laurie of Ontario, Calif. Karan will also be dearly missed by her long-time friends, Cindy Onken and Terry Burtrand. Services were private.
