KENNETH HOLLAND Obituary

KENNETH HOLLAND Kenneth Wayne "Ken" Holland, 84, of Las Vegas, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017. He was born Oct. 28, 1932, to Walter Alton and Dora Edith Holland in Clay County, Texas, and was a 53-year resident of Clark County, Nev. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was retired as an Engineer for the City of Las Vegas Fire Department and a plumber. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Henry. Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife, of 61 years, Nancy; daughter, Susan (Eric); son, Sam (Marci); daughter-in-law, Anna; and five grandchildren, Tess, Alex, Emma, Jacob and Joshua. A celebration of Ken's life will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 28, at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to "Firefighters of Southern Nevada Burn Foundation," 3111 S. Valley View Blvd., Suite B-3111, Las Vegas, NV 89102.

I knew Mr. Holland for 45 years give or take. He and my dad called each other "neighbor". I got to work with him at Station 9 when it was still a house. He and Ed Smith called me Junior Brown. Good man with a great family. RIP neighbor.
