Linus Klapperick Obituary

Linus John Klapperick, 70, of Las Vegas, passed away Friday, May 20, 2005. He was born Sept. 9, 1934, in Staceyville, Iowa, and resided in Las Vegas for 42 years. Moving his family to Las Vegas in 1963, he retired from the City of Las Vegas in 1992. Linus was also a Korean War veteran. He loved woodworking, gardening, fixing anything mechanical or electronic. He dearly loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and family gatherings with food and fun. He enjoyed life, never meeting a stranger. Linus was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary; sister, Vernetta; brothers, Kenneth and Wilbert "Willie"; and brother-in-law, Dean Corkill. He leaves behind his beautiful soul mate, partner, and wife of 43 years, Celesta "Sally" Klapperick; daughter, Kimberly and husband, Paul Schneider Jr.; daughter, Brenda and husband, William L. Allen Jr.; son, Robert Linus and wife, Patricia; 11 grandchildren, which were the love of his life: Blake, Cameron, Zachary, Casandra, Jon, Josie, Celesta, William, Cherie, Kayla and Robert Jr.; brothers, Herb and wife, Murl and Elmer and wife, Janette; three sisters, Marcey Corkill, Mary Delores and husband, Dick, and Darlene; brother-in-law, Mert; sisters-in-law, Mary and Ladonna; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Viewing will be from 2-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way.
