Lois Suiter Obituary

LOIS SUITER Lois Jean Suiter, 71, of Las Vegas, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2008. She was born May 8, 1937, in Kiowa, Kan.; raised in Twin Falls, Idaho; and relocated to Las Vegas in 1963. Lois was a founding member of Central Christian Church 45 years ago and remained a member until her passing. For 35 years, Lois ran a preschool child care facility, where children were taught reading, writing and arithmetic prior to entering kindergarten. Over the years the children under her care affectionately referred to her as "Aunt Lois", as well as "Mom." Lois served as president of the Clark County Child Care Association and was an active member of the Association board. Lois also extended her love for children by serving as a Girl Scout leader for many years. She loved spending time at the family cabin, studying scripture, and eating at her favorite restaurants. Lois was an avid fan of Andre Agassi and the Dallas Cowboys. She is the mother of five children; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Lois is survived by her husband, of 46 years, Glenn, 72, of Las Vegas; her father, Gene Windle of Twin Falls, Idaho; as well as four of her five children, Ron Suiter, 52, of W. Memphis, Ark., Sheri 49, and her children, Christopher, 32, Jennipher, 19 and Katherine Grant, 17, of Loomis, Calif., Terri Suiter, 46, and her children, Connar, 15 and Kylen Canepa, 14, of Elko, and Glenda Suiter, 40 of Las Vegas. She is preceded in death by her son, J.D. Suiter; sister, Shirley; and her mother, Lola. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at Central Christian Church, 1001 New Beginnings Drive, Henderson, with a viewing one hour prior. A private interment will follow at Palm Memorial Park, 1325 N. Main St. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Silver State School Credit Union, c/o Glenn Suiter for the Lois Suiter Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 12037, Las Vegas, NV 89112-0037. Funds to be distributed to the Boys and Girl Scouts of America or the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
