LUCY PADILLA Lucy Padilla, 85, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014. She was born May 23, 1929, to Jacobo and Maria Martinez, in Moses, N.M. Lucy went back to school after having three children and felt that it was very important to receive her high school diploma and graduated from Clayton High School in 1957. Lucy lived in Clayton for over 40 years and then moved to Las Vegas, where she resided for 42 years. Once in Las Vegas, Lucy worked in retail until her retirement in 2005. Lucy was very dedicated to her church the Guardian Angel Cathedral and was a Eucharistic Minister for over 31 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Padilla; her parents, Jacob and Marie Martinez; sister; and brother. Lucy is survived by her three daughters, Clarise (Marshall) Moffett of Las Vegas, Anita (Lloyd, deceased) Drennon of Rockwall, Texas, and Cathleen (Mark) Jacobus of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and grandchildren, Debbie Hulbert, Michelle Bittman, and Bill Bittman of Las Vegas, Brian Drennon, Jeff Drennon, and Michael Drennon of Rockwall, and Natalie Bassham, Chris Delvalle, Tonya Sarratt of Chattanooga; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Guardian Angel Cathedral, 302 Cathedral Way. Burial following at Davis Memorial Park, 6200 S. Lucy was a beautiful person with such a dynamic and feisty personality that will be missed by many people that she touched.
