Jennifer Kennedy Obituary

Visit the Inspired Life Memorials at Summerlin website to view the full obituary.

Our beloved Jennifer Susan Kennedy, 54, of North Las Vegas, Nevada, returned to her dear Father in Heaven on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Jennifer was born on August 1, 1971, to Larry Ramon Oler and Patsy Ann Oler in Hamilton, New Zealand. As a child, she had the most beautiful strawberry blonde hair, a detail her family fondly remembers.

Growing up in Hawaii, she graduated from Kahuku High School, and went on to attend BYU–Idaho and BYU–Hawaii, where she earned her degree in Elementary Education. She later pursued and then received a double Master’s degree. She spent her professional life in the field of education, which she loved. She also taught at a parent center, helping families develop life skills and strengthen their homes. Equally important to Jennifer was her love for the gospel and her enduring desire to give and serve others. She continually strived to emulate the Savior and follow His example of love in all she did.

In 1991, she faithfully served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Nova Scotia, Canada. That experience deepened her testimony and lifelong devotion to Jesus Christ.

Jennifer loved her Savior and shared her testimony through quiet acts of service, kindness, and unwavering faith. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel seen, valued, and at peace in her presence.

She loved swimming and walking, and found joy in arts and crafts, good food, and time spent with those she loved. She had a witty sense of humor that brought light to those around her. She was blessed with wonderful friends who loved and supported her through both joyful and challenging times in her life, and she cherished those friendships deeply. Her greatest joy was raising her children and witnessing their growth and accomplishments.

Family meant everything to Jennifer. She cherished family history and found great joy in the stories and connections that bind generations together. She loved family gatherings, dinners, and reunions, and created a home where all felt welcome and loved.

She loved travel and adventure, and wherever she went, she made time to connect with friends and family. Her home in Las Vegas was always open if you were passing through, she would invite you in, share a meal, and make you feel like you belonged. She always made time for people.

As her health declined, Jennifer was blessed to receive tender, Christlike service from ward members, friends, and family. Her family is deeply grateful for the love and support shown during that time.

She lived by the words, “I have loved thee with an everlasting love” (Jeremiah 31:3), and she extended that love to all around her.

Jennifer met David Aaron Kennedy, and they were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Las Vegas Nevada Temple in 1998. Together they were blessed with four children: Elijah, Isaac, Mikeila, and Jacob. She taught her family not only through her words, but through her quiet, steady, and Christlike example showing them how to love, serve, and follow the Savior in everyday moments.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents, Larry Ramon Oler and Patsy Ann Oler, as well as Midge Oler. She is survived by her loving husband, David S. Kennedy; her children, Elijah, Isaac, Mikeila, and Jacob; and her siblings: Eric Oler, Lani Manumaleuna, Julie Tangiora, Michael Oler, Gerald Oler, Ruth Tillman, Gretchen Oler, Lorraine Oler, Steven Oler, Duke Mossman, Kala Mossman, and Kawekiu Saafi.

She is deeply loved and will be dearly missed. We find comfort in knowing she will continue her life’s work on the other side of the veil, ministering to those she loves. Because of the Savior’s atoning sacrifice, we know we will see her again.

Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3350 W. Alexander Road, North Las Vegas, NV 89032, on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
