Dear Debra, 11/19/2017
I'm not certain if my first message was sent or if it was lost so forgive me if you receive two from this unknown person.
I saw your name at the end of a message that I sent to Michaels daughters, Chelsea and Kayleigh. I wanted to thank you so very much for keeping this site open after all this time for old friends like me who just stumbled across this news seven years after his passing.
Never the less The loss of Michael from this world is a still profound.
I met Michael when he was just barely 21. He was a break-in dealer at the Hacienda brimming with all the wonderful gifts of youth. He was a fun, good hearted soul who looked out after his dad.
I hope Debra, that time has eased your loss and that you have had a happy and comfortable life since the chapter with Michael ended. The fact that this site is still open says a lot. Thank you again.
I will include my e mail address but I seem to not be receiving it reliably.
Best Wishes,
Samanthaa Sheldan

So long after His passing is it still possible to get
A message to Michaels daughters.?
Michael was a dear friend and I grieve just learning of
His death now in 2017.
I have a beautiful heirloom that he gave to me many years ago that I think that he would like to be passed on to his beloved daughters. It was given to his father.
My phone number is 808 345 0063
Thank you.

One of my memories of Michael - I had this big stuffed dragon that was taking up too much floor space in the library. One Monday I came in and the dragon was suspended from the ceiling in such a way that it appeared to be flying above the bookshelves. Michael had quietly come to the library when nobody was around and created this bit of magic. He had many talents, and one of them was figuring out ways to make people smile and laugh. I also know that he passed on his gentle kindness and outrageous charisma to his extraordinary daughters.

Dear Kayleigh, I want you to know that, even though I didn't know your father well, I do know he loved and cared for you deeply. That was so very evident every time I spoke with him. To you, Chelsea, and Nancy, I send all my love and my sincere hope that healing and comfort come to you soon.
All my love, Wendy

Deb, Kayleigh and Chelsea. I know the pain you're going through because of your love for Michael. There are no words to express my sorrow. It's such a tragic loss of our loved ones at such a young age. You will always be in my heart because of the family love we shared. To the girls, he truly loved you. The love he had for you both was the strongest love a dad could have for his children. My love and prayers are sent to all of you. Feel free to reach out any time. My love, Othena.

To live in hearts we leave behind
Is not to die.
~Thomas Campbell, Hallowed Ground
The childhood and young adult memories of Michael L. Bernier that I have are in my heart and mind as I say good bye to a great friend, father and fellow human being. The memories of Michael will remain in the people that are left behind to carry the touch, fight the fight and continue the struggle here in this temporary existence.
Our family’s prayers go out to Debbie, Nancy, Chelsea & Kayleigh as they pull the pieces together as Michael would expect. Continue to remember the goodness, happiness and friendship that he had brought to so many people during his brief stay here on earth.
You will be missed my dear friend.
It's surprising how much memory is built around things unnoticed at the time. ~Barbara Kingsolver, Animal Dreams

Nancy,Chelsea,Kayleigh,and Debra,
Just want all of you to know that Maine is quite a distance away but we are all greiving your loss. The Bernier family roots are deep in this part of the country and we are so honored to have had Mike as our cousin growing up. My children Derrick, Chantal, and Lauren always remembered our trip to Las Vegas and the kites Mike bought them. He had a generous heart and truely cared and loved his family. He will be sadly missed.

Mike became the boy next door in 1974 when he, his Dad and Martin moved into the neighborhood. My memories of Mike include him obsessively working in the yard and keeping the pool and the white Caddy spotless, like no other teen could. I can still hear him warning me “Big Ed’s home”, talking about my Dad when I was late getting home. It is very difficult to lose a father and I know Chelsea and Kayleigh will suffer at first, but peace will fill their hearts later in knowing their Dad is still looking out for them. His great sense of humor and wittiness will be missed by all. My deepest condolences to Mike’s loved ones and friends.

Words can't describe how devastated I am over over Mike's death. I knew Mike for a very long time, having worked with him at Caesars Palace and now at Mandalay Bay. He was an awesome human being. Everyone liked Mike. He had this charm and charisma, and a sharp, witty sense of humor. He always made me laugh. He will be sadly missed. It's so tragic because he was liked by so many people. My heart goes out to the family. May he rest in peace. No more suffering.

My love and prayers to the family of Michael..I met Michael thru his wife Debbie whom I work with. We met at a baby shower for a co-worker. He was the life of the party!!! There was a guitar player and wanted volunteers to sing nursery songs. Nobody wanted to but as soon as Michael heard the tune for "Wheels on the bus" he got all excited jumped up and said thats my favorite one,I have to do this and joined the guitar player and sang and danced...It was the funniest thing. He had us in tears..We all fell in love with him right there...Debbie and Michael were really cute together cracking jokes off of each other..you could feel the love. Thank you for that special memory Michael..May you rest in peace...

Chelsea and Kayleigh I wanted to share a memory I have of your father. As you know I went to many of your dance, singing, acting shows and the one thing I can remember is the glow your father had when he would watch you girls. Just by looking at him you could tell you two were the most important thing to him and he was so proud of both of you. Its a great thing to be loved that much!

Nancy, Chelsea & Kayleigh,
Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.
Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.
I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.
Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.
Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.
Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.
