MICHAEL MCGETTIGAN Obituary

MICHAEL MCGETTIGAN Michael James McGettigan passed away Oct. 11, 2014, at his home in Las Vegas. Michael was born in Reading, Pa., May 30, 1962. His parents were James Edward McGettigan and Patricia Hanna McGettigan. Until a few months ago Michael had been an employee of the Paris Las Vegas Hotel where he successfully managed various restaurants and food services for many years. Michael was a brilliant chef and manager. He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 1991. Over more than 20 years as a professional chef, Michael worked at resorts in Florida, British and American Virgin Islands as well as several highly rated hotels in Las Vegas. Previously in his career he successfully managed restaurants at the Desert Inn and the Alexis Park. Michael also successfully opened and managed "Maggiano's Little Italy" restaurants in Boston, Philadelphia, and San Jose. Michael is survived by his sister, Kate of Pennsylvania; his brothers, Tim and Tony of Colorado and California, respectively; and a vast extended family of relatives and friends who miss him very deeply. Michael was a member of the "The Church LV" in Henderson/Las Vegas from 2007 until his death. Services are pending.

I am so sorry to just now learn of Mike´s passing. I worked with Mike at Maggiano´s in Boston and Philadelphia. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

I am so saddened that Mike is gone. My condolences to all of his immediate family and loved ones. He will be missed very much. I will always treasure the special time I got to spend with him in Vegas when I was there several years ago. RIP, Mike.
