Nancy Packer Obituary

NANCY PACKER Nancy J. Packer, 62, of Henderson, died of brain cancer March 29, 2008. She was born in Eureka, Calif., to Ruth Wasserman of Portola Valley, Calif., and the late Nathan Wasserman, M.D., and grew up in Palo Alto, Calif. Nancy recently celebrated her 43rd anniversary with her husband, Gary Packer, also originally from Palo Alto. Their married life together took them to living and making lifelong friends in northern and southern California, Chicago, Denver and southern Nevada. Nancy's love for gardening, cooking, wardrobe design and home decorating were talents exhibiting her boundless creativity and constant gift to family and friends alike. In life, Nancy was like a butterfly; spreading her love and sunshine, fluttering about sharing her joy and humor. Her smile, her warmth, her sense of style and enthusiasm will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Along with her husband, Nancy is survived by her sons, Michael (Stephanie) of Altadena, Calif., and David (Jessica) of Longmont, Colo., her adored grandchildren, Ethan, Kyle and Ryan; and sisters, Ellen (Stan) Balcomb of Cambria, Calif., and Judy Wasserman of Somerset, Mass. We all will miss you, dear Nancy. A celebration of Nancy's life is being planned for Saturday, May 3, with details to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made on Nancy's behalf to Neurofibromatosis research. For information, call 1-800-942-6825.
