NITA WATSON Nita Vonette Watson (nee Rosemond), 61, a native Nevadan, passed away Sept. 11, 2015, after a 34-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Nita was born Feb. 27, 1954, in Las Vegas. She attended Clark County schools graduating from Las Vegas High in 1972. After high school, she attended Texas Southern University in Houston. She subsequently returned to Las Vegas, enrolled at UNLV and completed her bachelor's degree through National University's Las Vegas campus, while employed with Reynolds Electrical and Engineering Company at the infamous Nevada Test Site. She is survived by her husband, Will Watson; son, Willie Watson; mother, Willie Stokes; sister, Mattie Johnson; brother, Melvin Rosemond, all of Las Vegas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends throughout the world. Visitation will be 4-7 pm. Friday, Sept. 25. Celebration of her life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, both at Davis Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119, (702) 736-6200. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Although it's been 5 years since the world lost a shining star that GOD gave to our family. We still miss and treasure the time Nita was a part of our lives. Even though Nita is in the loving embrace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded by family and friends, we still feel the love, happiness and joy she left with us. Although we have lost a bright light, that helped so many see their way through some dark times, we are so very grateful that God allowed Nita to be apart of our lives for so many years. I know Nita is happy in her new home, safely tucked in our living Savior arm. Free from pain and the worries of this world, I am happy for the peace, love and joy she is enjoying from Heaven.
