R.G. Craddock Obituary

R.G. “Bob” Craddock, our honorable father, passed away May 4, 2019. Bob was born in Churchill, TN to an Appalachian lumber family. One of 11 brothers and sisters, everyone had a role in keeping food on the table and clothes on their backs. The family worked hard to survive. He learned how to build things, taking on building coffins at the early age of 10 and took his first contracted job at 11 years old. Bob entered the Navy and trained in hard-hat diving and nuclear arms recovery. Bob married his wife, Louise, in 1954 and remained married until her death in 2018. Their first-son, Jay, was born in 1959 and their second-son Robby was born in 1964. Bob was a father, husband, friend, neighbor, carpenter, scout-master, teacher, and Nevada State Assemblyman for 16 years. Assemblyman Craddock sponsored and/or co-sponsored many groundbreaking laws with lasting impact to the citizens of Nevada. He is survived by his two sons and their wives, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins, and many family and friends. Visitation will be at Bunker Brothers Mortuary on Thursday, May 16, 5-8 pm. Services and burial will be held at 10 am on May 17 at the Veterans Cemetery in Boulder City, NV. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of their choice.
