Richard Dugan Obituary

RICHARD DUGAN Richard Addison Dugan went home to be with his Lord Monday, Feb. 26, 2007. "Dick" Dugan was born in Chicago, June 19, 1925, to William Lawrence Dugan and Jesseline Dougherty Dugan. Upon graduating from St. Philips High School he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served in the 'Silent Service' in the Pacific until the end of World War II. He worked for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Gary, Ind., before moving to Las Vegas, from Lansing, Ill., in 1962. He worked for both the Nevada Beverage Company and the Laundry and Dry Cleaners Union. In September of 2003 he made the Nevada Veterans Home his final residence. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, James Dugan; his sister, Mary Jane Dugan Spitzer; an infant son, John Dugan; and his daughter, Lorraine Dugan Redmond. He is survived by his sister, Virginia O'Donnell and her husband, Joseph of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; former wife, Elizabeth Krolak of Las Vegas; daughter, Deborah Fuoco and her husband, Alfred of Stillwater, N.J.; son, Richard Scott Dugan and his wife, Kathy of Las Vegas; daughter, Joy LaCombe and her husband, William of Tucson, Ariz.; daughter, Jesselyn Laatz Johnson and her husband, Niles of Tustin, Calif.; son, Thomas Dugan of Orlando, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was a simple man, with a big heart and a ready smile, a kind and loving father who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A graveside service will be conducted by Father Patrick Durkin, a childhood friend of the deceased at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City. Guests are invited to join the family in a luncheon following the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Nevada Veterans Nursing Home, 100 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005. Arrangements are by Boulder City Mortuary.
