Rita Pickett Obituary

RITA PICKETT Rita Pickett, 77, of Las Vegas, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2009. She was born Oct. 14, 1931, in Everett, Mass., and was a 13-year resident of Nevada. Rita retired as a housekeeping supervisor for a retirement community. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Community Church. Rita was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Anthony Pickett. She is survived by her husband, of 56 years, Donald Pickett; grandson, Louis Pickett of Las Vegas; granddaughter, Elizabeth Pickett of Redlands, Calif.; and sisters, Elena Stebelski of Las Vegas, Jennie Fontana of Hawthorne, Calif., and Gloria Calabrese of Burbank, Calif. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday, May 29, with a Vigil to follow. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 30, all at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Interment will follow at Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

I am so saddened by Rita's passing. She was a kind and loving person and a wonderful friend. I met Rita at church some time ago and came to look forward to seeing her every Sunday. She will bbe missed by many, by fond memories will keep her alive in all of our hearts.
