ROBERT ERNST Obituary

ROBERT ERNST Robert Ernst, 80, of Las Vegas, passed away June 21, 2014. Bob was born in New York to Meyer and Anna Ernst. He grew up in Rockaway Beach, N.Y., and attended the Hebrew Institute of Long Island. He loved the beach, the boardwalk and fishing. Bob served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a medic ambulance driver. Bob was married to Joyce Post for 57 "wonderful years," and together, they had two sons, Joel and Gary. Moving to Las Vegas in 1993 was the best part of a good life. Here, he enjoyed family, especially Gary and Michelle, new friends and watching his granddaughter, Cheryl, grow up. Bob had a great love of fishing and took many people along to enjoy the experience. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara "Cookie;" and his brother, Herbert. Bob also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 8 a.m. Thursday, June 26, at Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive in Boulder City. Celebration of Bob's life will follow, at the home of Gary and Michelle Ernst. ,
