Robert Schmidt Obituary

With sadness, on July 31, 2004, long time Las Vegas resident, Robert D. Schmidt, took the rainbow bridge connecting heaven and earth. Here his body will be free again to enjoy the activities he so much enjoyed. A retired casino host and U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, he was born Oct. 19, 1931, in Los Angeles. He was an original booster of UNLV basketball, enjoyed NASCAR, baseball, fishing, hunting and gourmet cooking. Bob requested that there be no services. So to celebrate his life a memorial fund has been set up with the Society for PSP. The Society for PSP is dedicated to increasing awareness of this under recognized disorder, advancing research toward a cure and providing support and education for persons with PSP, their families and health care professionals. You can send your memorial contributions to: Kathy Speca, Development Director, Society for PSP, Woodholme Medical Bldg., 1838 Greene Tree Road, #515, Baltimore, MD 21208. He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Abney; and special friends and caregivers, Carol Jean Curtis, Charlie Williams, Richard Simpson; and our "big dog" Shelby. His remains will be placed at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
