RONALD MARTINI Obituary

RONALD LEE MARTINI Ronald Lee Martini, 67, died peacefully at home in the arms of his much-loved wife of forty-five years on November 26, 2019, after long years of illness ending in a courageous battle with cancer. He would want to be remembered as a master elementary educator who dedicated 30 years of his life to teaching young people. He taught in Wyoming, Utah, and finally with the Clark County School District in the Las Vegas Valley, where he taught from 2001 until 2017 at Rose Warren, Charles and Phyllis Frias, Ruthe Deskin, Thomas O'Roarke, and Tom Williams Elementary schools. You could always find Ron with his infectious laughter, story-telling, and expression of love and caring for all he encountered. He also wished to send warm regards to all his former partners in education. Ron loved both sides of education: being educated and educating. He earned bachelors' degrees in sociology (Western Washington University) and special education (University of Wyoming), a master's degree in elementary education (Utah State University), and an administrative endorsement from the UNLV College of Education. Ron was one of the six Teachers of the Game honored under the UNLV basketball program's partnership with the CCSD under Coach Lon Kruger. Ron is survived by his wife, Mary-Ann, as well as by his younger brother Rick (Nancy) Martini of Marysville, Washington, and is predeceased by his parents, Mary and Keith, and his brothers Randy, Rodney, and Robert Martini, all of Everett, Washington. His survived by two aunts, Joyce DeBellis of Springfield, Odoregon, and Jill Delaney of Everett, Washington, and by numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. Family and friends will gather for a Memorial Mass and reception for Ron on Saturday December 14, 2019, at St. Thomas Catholic Newman Center on the campus of UNLV, 4765 Brussels Street, in Las Vegas. There will also be a permanent memorial in his honor at the Newman Center at a later time. Ron requests that those who wish to honor his memory do so by reading with their children, taking a walk with loved family and friends, and making a toast to enduring friendships lifelong and beyond.

Sending my condolences, I am so sorry for your loss.
I am 23 now and had Mr. Martini as my third grade teacher. I think about him every now and again because he was one of the best teachers I ever had. I will never forget him. Thank you Mr. Martini, for everything you did for us kids.

I drove past Frias Elementary and remembered all of my memories I had there.. You were the first of my teachers I tried to look up online to see how you were doing.

Mr. Martini, you were unforgettable.

My third grade teacher, but had lessons that will stick with me for a lifetime. I had many fears as it was only my third year in America and you stood by me every time I cried. When I didn´t have any lunch, you made sure I didn´t go hungry. You taught me all the core subjects but also taught me kindness, happiness, and humility. You encouraged and helped helped me to excel in my academics, performing beyond my age´s expectations. So much that I´ve had honors all the way until I achieved my BSN.

Your kindness was not lost on me as a child and will never be forgotten. In fact, I hope that I emulate your genuineness and warmth towards the patients I take care of (and eventually my own family).

Thank you, Mr. Martini.

We loved Ron whether it was after Mass at the Newman Center or on the stage at Spring Mountain Park or at Cugino's on a Sunday. He was a one of a kind person dedicated to his friends and his students. We also want to express our sincere condolences to Mary-Ann. May Ron rest in peace.

The world has lost a wonderful human being. Ron had the best sense of humor. There was never a dull moment when he came to visit! We all had such a good time on our trips to North Dakota. RIP cousin. I know you are having a massive party up in Heaven with Aunt Mary and all of our family that passed. Give my Dad a hug for me.

Rick and Nancy,
Sorry to hear about Ron. It has been many years that have passed but I have fond memories of Ron. All of us running around the Martini house back in the late 60s, you could tell he had a vision on how his life was going to be moving forward. His educational accomplishments and the fact that he touched so many young lives is a true testament of Ron's life.
God bless Ron Martini,
