Samuel Ferraro Obituary
SAMUEL FERRARO Samuel Ross McKean Ferraro "Sam O'Neil," 40, was called to our Lord Aug. 3, 2007, after a courageous battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. His loving family was by his side at his passing. Sam was born July 6, 1967, in Santa Monica, Calif. As a child, Sam lived in many places, but called Las Vegas his home for the past 24 years. Sam's professional career was as a voiceover actor for radio and television. His well-known voice was heard around the planet. But Sam's life was so much more. He was a dedicated and loving husband and father. He touched so many lives and was a friend to all. He never met a stranger. His zest for life was inspiring to all that knew him. Sam lived life to the fullest. His motto was, "You can't just sip . . . you have to gulp from the cup of life." Sam was the past president of the Parent Teacher Association at Keith and Karen Hayes Elementary School. His life included being a soccer coach to the Tweety Hawks and the Purple Crush, golfing, riding his motorcycle, camping, softball, quading, snowmobiling, hiking the Grand Canyon, paintballing, skiing, photography and family trips. Sam leaves behind an extended family: Dana, his wife of fourteen years; five daughters, Sarah, Bianca, Megan, Samantha and Alexis, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Jodi Lawrence of Henderson; parents-in-law, Ken and Donna Longworth of Meridian, Idaho; his sister and brother-in-law, Dena and Duke Jackels of Van Nuys, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law, John Heathcliff and Elizabeth Gonzalez of Los Angeles; brother and sister-in-law, Marc and Melanie Lawrence of Torrance, Calif.; brother, Paige Lawrence of Oakland, Calif.; brother-in-law, Dan Longworth of Star, Idaho; brother-in-law and wife, Ken Jr. and Melissa Longworth of Las Vegas; one niece; six nephews; and his dog, Jake. Sam touched many lives and will be deeply missed, but we take comfort in knowing he has been united with his beloved father, Art Kevin. They are now broadcasting again from Heaven. A celebration of Sam's life will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, August 13, at Central Christian Church, located at 1001 New Beginnings Drive in Henderson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nevada Cancer Institute, in memory of Sam O'Neil, 10000 W. Charleston Blvd., Suite 260, Las Vegas, NV 89135.
